No matter whose house they will stand proud of, these trees will add beauty to all other festive decorations. The bases for the DIY small Christmas trees are broken tree branches. We picked up the branches and let them dry. We saw them and finally sealed them with some Polyurethane, ready for you to add your small trees for the holidays. You will cut out shapes for the trees in three different sizes and add some texture. There are various ways to add texture to the little pewter trees. You can use embossing folders, an embossing machine, or handheld metal embossing tools. Using the embossing folder will be quicker, but adding some texture by hand, will make these little trees genuinely handmade. With texture for the trees in place, you will glue them together before securing the small Christmas trees onto their bases.Apart from texture, you will also add color to your small Christmas trees. Color is optional, as the little trees look great with only the pewter color. Before you add color, you will do a faux patina on the pewter; however, you will also have the option to do the chemical patina.Your choices for color are alcohol inks or sharpies, pending on the area you want to color.
